Formeeca

Formeeca

Formeeca, or “Meeca” as she prefers to be called, is no stranger to hard work. Spending her time pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in social work at Auburn University, working full-time as an Intervention/Behavior Specialist for ACHR-Head Start and part time as an Uber driver, acting as President of NBB Mentoring and caring for her children as a single mother, the Alabama resident has a lot on her plate. Still, she makes her family’s health care a priority, often putting her own care on pause to focus on helping her daughter and her son, who has autism, secure their needed health care.

Consumer Stories

The needs and experiences of health care consumers — particularly people in marginalized or low-income communities or with complex needs and significant disabilities — are the driving force of the Center’s work. Documenting and amplifying patients’ real-life health care situations, in their own words, is central to our ability to create a health care system that works for all of us.
